The Dining Room is FINALLY Finished! |
After a LONG month of prepping for and laying the hardwood -- we FINALLY finished the dining room!!! We can't begin to tell you how satisfying it is to sit or stand in that room and know it's complete. We now have two completely finished rooms after 6 months worth of work. I can't wait to move in and convert this newly finished room to a music room/study!

Just Because |
Just because we are loving the gorgeous sunflowers that are lining our back fence
I also loved that we made artichoke soup with a recipe from the French Laundry and fresh artichokes from our backyard! We are going to feel picked on when summer ends and so do our vegetables! |

Slow, Slow Progress |
Over the last month we've made what has felt like very little progress on the house. Granted, we traveled to Ohio for a week, Lee spent a Saturday hiking with the boy scouts, we helped move my cousin, attended a wedding, worked crazy hours for work and had SEVERAL church obligations. But, even still - what we've started at home hasn't gotten much closer to completion. It's months like these that can be discouraging when we think of everything else that still lays before us. |

I just couldn't stand the idea of not being with everyone. And as our frustrations with the floor have continued to escalate, the weekend at Bear Lake kept looking like a better and better idea.

We ♥ Having a Garden |
We absolutely LOVE having a garden! We loved our herb garden instantaneously, and for the last month we've been able to enjoy everything else that is growing in our backyard! There is something unbelievably satisfying about watching something you've planted from a seed (or a start) take root, grow and bear fruit or flowers. We've been childishly excited each time we've noticed our first cucumber, zucchini, pepper, artichoke, strawberry, green bean, tomato or carrot top. It's definitely been a highlight of home ownership.
