J Wierskis! ust two days after Lani and the boys left our house we flew to Utah for a quick, 48 hour trip. Two family friends, Julie and Brett were getting married in Midway and most of the Kalemba and Tanner families would be there.
The majority of the wedding festivities were at the Homestead in Midway which made it easy to spend quality time with all the family and friends who traveled to the wedding. We hadn’t seen many of the guests in over three years and it was so great to see everyone. Kalemba Girls Lani ended up leaving the boys at home, they just couldn’t handle another trip after returning home from California (they had a rough return travel day) but Abbie came with Stella and Owen. It’s always such a treat to see those two and I spent as much time with them as possible. They both looked adorable all decked out for the wedding. This was the first wedding for both of them and Owen LOVED the dance party. He really got into it and he and Mila stole the show with their dance moves. It was adorable. Ayrowyn rocked the house as DJ and us girls danced like we hadn’t in a very long time. We decided that since the weddings are nearly all behind us we need to throw parties for our 10 year anniversaries so we continue to get together and keep on dancing!
It was a beautiful weekend in Utah and such a great opportunity to catch up with good friends. We prioritized spending time with the wedding guests and weren’t able to make the usual Utah rounds which was a bummer. We will have to find a time to return early in the year. Palo Alto Reunion I did however have the very rare opportunity to see the group of girls I hung out with early on in my California days. As luck would have it, my friends and roommates from 2000-2004 who are now dispersed across Oregon, Utah, Idaho, California and Colorado had a girls weekend planned that very weekend in Midway, just one mile down the road from the Homestead. When pre-wedding festivities wrapped up on Friday evening, I headed over to see the girls. I hadn’t seen some of them since I had gotten married. It was so much fun. I laughed harder than I’ve laughed in ages and it was as if no time had gone by at all. I was sorry I wasn’t able to stay longer. I hope another reunion of that sort gets planned again soon. My part of it was far too short!
