The last few years we have found ourselves staying closer to home during the first few months of the year. We are usually pretty beat after the holiday travel schedule and look forward to sticking around for a few months. For the last several years this has been the ideal time for us to tackle house projects and this year was no exception. We finally finished some long overdue tile work and a few other polishing touches as well. It felt SO good.Finished Product
The difference between this year and others was that we had to divide our time between the house and the Webelos program. Since we are new to the program, we had no idea just how intense the winter requirements were! We spent 4 - 6 hours a week prepping for and conducting Wednesday night activities AND there were several Saturdays that also required our time. It wore us out! The highlight was probably the field trip to the newly constructed (and net yet inhabited) jail in Red Wood City. A member of our ward was the construction manager on the project and he was able to walk us through it. The boys loved it. We thought it was pretty cool too.
When we weren't on the road, overworked with our jobs or busy with scouts, Lee was practicing the organ and I was trying to catch up on photos. He's been asked to pay for the service at our church a couple times of month. He really enjoys it and the motivation to practice - but he's one busy boy! Before we knew it the winter transitioned to spring and now it's nearly summer and we aren't quite sure where the time went.
