The first of our laundry list of projects for the house is to scrape off the "popcorn" ceilings.  Our goal is to remove them before we move in.  It's an ambitious goal -- but highly worth pursuing.  Our first day at the house was dedicated to the ceilings.  We did pretty well.   By the time we left at midnight we had taken care of all the hallway and living room ceilings.  The biggest surprise (well, besides hitting some very difficult patches to remove) was the dormant beehive in the rafters.  It was enormous and had eaten through the drywall in the living room.  Fortunately the hole is smaller than the hive and I married a man with skills who can fix it!  We made a terrible mess of the ceiling droppings but are now between 1/3 and 1/4 of the way done.  (Lee is more optimistic than I am about our progress-- but then again, the perk of him having the skills to change all the locks meant he didn't spend as many hours doing a back bend on a ladder).  Regardless, once we get back from vacation -- we'll be spending every free minute finishing up the rest.  Anyone else want to join us?  :)   We posted a few pictures of the progress.  Click HERE
