After completing just two rooms in six months, we've now knocked out three more rooms in the last month!  Having finished up the Office this week, the three little rooms are complete!  I'm beyond excited to move into the Office, unpack several boxes and hang some pictures.  It feels SO good to be able to say we're nearly finished with the front of the house.

We have a few odds and ends that remain:  bathroom floor, final inspection of the windows, installing hallway trim and a few other outstanding tasks.  But, once those are complete -- everything but the Master and the Kitchen/Family room will be done.  Granted, it'll probably take until this time next year to be 100% unpacked and settled in.  But my mind is able to rest just a little bit more knowing we've ALMOST completed half of the house.

The office used to look like this:

After doing all of this:

• Scrape the popcorn off the ceiling
• Sand, spackle and texture the ceiling
• Paint the ceiling
• Remove the full width and height beadboard along the biggest wall (green wall)
• Sand, spackle, sand and prime the bedroom walls
• Some sanding and spackling in the closets
• Paint the closets
• Paint the closet doors
• Retrofit a new window (outsourced)
• Install new blinds (still love them)
• Install new electrical sockets and replace the light switches
• Tear up the old floor
• Clean and prep the sub floor -- including laying Acquabar
• Rack and lay the new floor - room & closet
• Paint and install the baseboard trim
• Paint and install the closet trim
• Sand, Stain, Sand, Stain, Sand, Varnish, Sand, Varnish, cut and install the casing for the windows
• Sand, Stain, Sand, Stain, Sand, Varnish, Sand, Varnish, cut and install the jams for the new windows

It now looks like this:
