Within the first two weeks of moving into our house, we discovered that water was leaking through cracks in the stucco on the wall facing the side street.  That wall is fully exposed to all the elements and it's been a concern for us for the last 18 months.  In March of 2010 Lee patched the cracks with a stucco sealant, but we didn't take it any further.  We've had a spider web looking wall since then.  Over the last month we've finally made some changes!

The last weekend in August we scrubbed and cleaned the wall (it was amazing what that alone did) and on Labor Day we primed it.  Then, the last two weekends we've given the wall two coats of fresh paint.  We decided to deviate from the original gray color, and picked something a little warmer.  It's not exactly what we were going for, but it will work.   But, this does mean that we have three more sides of the house to paint to get them all to match.  We'll not be worrying about the back and side of the house that only we see until next spring, but we do need to tackle the front of the house.  We discovered yesterday that we've got some serious issues with the wood siding across the front and we need to replace it with something new - hopefully before the winter rains come.  But, it's a lot of work in a very short time.  We'll see how far we get!

We still need to paint the trim around the windows and the roof line and do a little landscaping, but here are a few shots of the where we are now.  You can still see the spider webs through the new paint, but it's WAY better than before.
