Bear Lake Beach Time

Lani and Kyle's wedding celebration took place at Bear Lake over the weekend of August 20th.  My dad's side of the family came out early and we rented a pimped out house on the lake for a week! We shared the house with David, Donna and their terrific kids, my aunt Jean, Danny, Kirsten and their adorable 2 year old, Kelsey and my family.  The house was huge with room for all, hot tub in the basement, movie screen and projector (albeit not in the greatest shape), shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball, tether ball, you name it, we had it.  The party crowd didn't arrive until Thursday, so we got to chill with the Kalemba's for a couple of days.

We spent a day on the beach and a day on the water before everyone arrived.  My dad rented a pontoon boat and a ski boat and that couldn't have been more fun.  A few of us water skied (I had much better luck this time around) and the highlight of the day was the Super Mable-  a sofa sized inner-tube with a backrest, armrests and plenty of hand-holds.  The Super Mable held three persons or 500 pounds and we LOVED it.  Lee had a grand time spinning the three of us sisters all over the place -- testing out the tube to see if it truly couldn't be flipped.  We came close once or twice and my sisters just loved seeing that side of Lee.  :)  The Super Mable was great for all - moms and kids included.    We all got a little sun-torched, but had a great time.

Thursday was a work day getting everything ready at the Party House for the gazillions of friends coming to celebrate with Lani and Kyle.  Friday and Saturday we were back at the beach.  Lani and Kyle have some really great friends that were fun to meet and fun to reconnect with.   There were so many people that I feel like I saw everyone and no one, all at the same time.  And although the water level of the lake was the highest it has been in over 50 years, it still was gorgeous and everyone had a great time.

Photos of the Kalembas on the beach and on the boat are here.

Photos of the wedding celebration beach days are here. (Email me if you'd like the password to this album, it's different than the usual).
