This last weekend (August 17-19) was "cousins weekend" at Bear Lake.  We're very fortunate that my Aunt opens up her cabin on the east side of the lake to us cousins every summer.  We love being there, visiting with family and soaking up some sun! We usually fly in and go straight to Logan or the lake the same night, but this year we decided to stay near Salt Lake for a bit and catch up with a few friends.  We stayed with one of my best friends from home Thursday night and then stopped in to see some of our friends who have relocated from Palo Alto to Utah on Friday.  We loved seeing everyone, meeting the additions to the families and catching up.  If only it had been for longer!  There were still so many people I would have loved to see, but just couldn't.

We got up to the lake Friday evening, just in time for a swim and sunset.  The crew was much smaller this year - and although we missed seeing more people, I appreciated the slower pace!  Saturday (although smokey from the fires) was gorgeous and we couldn't get enough time at the lake.  We were there until after the firey sun set.  The highlight this year were the paddle boards the Tanners rented for us to play around on.  They are a new favorite for the lake.  Lee and I lucked out with a perfectly calm lake at sunset and we had a very scenic paddle out into the lake.  It was awesome.

The weekend came to a fast close for us early Sunday evening.  We tried to soak in as much lake time as we could before we had to leave.  Unfortunately Sunday's sun didn't last long and by mid-afternoon we were all covered up (which was a first).  Lee and I left just as the rains arrived.   Although we're a bit worn out from being on the road as much as we have been this summer - we're awfully glad we joined the small crew at Bear Lake.   We took a few pictures that you can find in the gallery.
