Little Jack Jerome Pfaffenbach finally decided to join the family on Sunday, September 22, 2013.  He measured just under 21" in length and 8 pounds 4 ounces.   Lee and I met him 5.5 days later.  The trip was a whirlwind.  Thanks to a delayed flight, we didn't get to La Grande until 1am Friday night.  Little Jack was wide awake when we got there and we got to meet the perfect little boy right then!  We only had 36 hours before heading back to Boise, and I loved every minute of them.   Wonderful Lee was the "food fairy" (as Lani called him). He went grocery shopping, made us killer scrambled eggs for brunch and then went all out for dinner with a pesto marinated steak, grilled carrots with maple glaze sauce and grilled peaches and blueberries with ice cream for dessert.   While Lee cooked, I held Jack.  :) And when he needed to be with his mom, I made them cookies.   With us there, we were able to help both Lani and Kyle get some much needed sleep.   Our trip was extremely short (the shortest I've ever taken to LG), but so incredibly worth it.  It kills me to think about waiting until Thanksgiving to see him again.
