It's hard to believe that Lee and I have been in our house for just over three years.  This will be our fourth summer and the fourth garden we've planted.  Having a garden has been one of the things we've loved most about home ownership.  What makes this year different however, is the amount of work we DIDN'T have to do in order to get it planted.  It was marvelous!

The first year we spent multiple weekends prepping a place for a 4 x 8 garden bed.  The work that was involved was crazy hard (jackhammers, concrete removal, bed building, etc) and we even had the help of some very good friends.   For a refresher you can see that post here.

Year two was only easier in the sense that we hired someone to remove the remaining concrete.  There was still tons for us to do.  There's a post about that too.

Year three - was wonderful because there wasn't any more concrete to dispose of.  But, we still had a bed to build and some improvements to tackle.  Those efforts are here.

This year - all we had to do was mix in new soil and fertilizer and buy a few more pots.  Less than a day's worth of work.  I'm hoping that this is a sign of more good to come.  The big projects are mostly out of the way and now we can enjoy life just a little bit more.   We can't wait for the berries and veggies to start producing.
