The Potatoes! We were at home this year for Halloween and really enjoyed it.  I even managed to get Lee in a costume!  Granted it was a pretty simple costume (I didn't want to push my limits), but it was a costume!  Our first event was at our church's "Trunk or Treat".   It's one of my favorite Halloween activities -- kids and adults both get dressed up, adults decorate their trunks and kids circle the parking lot trick or treating at the numerous trunks.  There are also games and pizza.  It's really quite fun.

Friends of ours have also started hosting a Halloween/Birthday party for their son.  Everyone comes dressed up, enjoys dinner and the most delicious of home made birthday cakes and then hits the neighborhood for some trick or treating.  It's a fun way to spend the evening.    We didn't stick around for the trick or treating this year since we had the pleasure of hosting some surprise guests that night!  Lani's mother and father in law and Lani's nephew were passing through on their way to LA on Halloween. They inquired about staying with us and we were more than happy to say yes.  A few years had passed since we had seen Tom and Nancy and we hadn't ever met little Leo before.  He is two and is darling!  They weren't at our home long (under 12 hours) but we loved every minute with Leo.  I like to think we made a new friend!  I hope they come back this way again!
