An Afternoon in Monterey

Our good friends Nick and Erika are leaving the great state of California in just a few days and they invited us and the Hardings to spend their last weekend in Monterey with them.   We had a perfect afternoon and I just tried not to think about the fact that it was one of our last opportunities to hang out together.

Most of our afternoon was spent at the beach where the polar bears named Abby and Ivy played in the water and made sand castles.  Little girls in swimming suits are just so darn cute!

We treated ourselves to a snack at the Paris Bakery and then opted for the scenic 17 Mile Drive.  By the time we got to the Lone Cypress tree the fog was rolling in strong.  Fortunately the number of tourists out were few and we were able to dominate the platform for a group picture.

We are so glad we got the chance for some quality Nick and Erika time before they left/leave.  And we just adore the Harding girls so it was a perfect afternoon.    More pictures of the afternoon are here.
