Kalemba Sisters - Jack & Owen Nearly every August my family and extended family gather at Bear Lake in Idaho for a long weekend.  With Abbie's wedding celebration last summer and the arrival of Jack and Owen, it didn't happen - and we all missed it.  This year the numbers came out in full force!  We even had a solid representation from the mid-west, including my cousin and his family who joined us for the first time.  SOOO Big

Lee and I were the last to arrive to the party on Friday night.  We pulled in during a phenomenal lighting storm.  The turquoise of the lake against the purple sky was pretty impressive.  If it hadn't been pouring rain it would have been fun to take a few pictures.  We arrived just as dinner was being served (standard dinner hour is 9pm on Bear Lake weekends) and enjoyed seeing everyone.   We then had two full days at the lake for sun and fun!

Abbie and Owen My focus those couple of days (surprise, surprise) were Jack and Owen. This was their first trip to the lake and we thought they were going to love it.  And Owen did.  He loved crawling in the warm, shallow water, playing in the sand and walking everywhere.  Jack on the other hand wasn't his happy little self. For being a water baby, he did NOT like the sand and wanted only to be held by his parents.  Sugar Cone's Baby Shower Fortunately we stayed under the same roof and I was lucky enough to have some good moments with the litt  le stinker since feeding him always makes him happy.  :) 

Saturday was the only full day everyone had together.  We soaked up the sun, played water kickball and had a little baby shower for Joy and Collin's baby girl.  The day flew by.  As did Sunday morning and early  afternoon.   Only the Kalembas and Tanners were able to stay Sunday night and we enjoyed a very low key and gorgeous evening.  The weather finally cooperated and we watched a beautiful sunset and took our evening dips in the lake before packing up.   Sunset on the beach Monday morning everyone got back on the road.  We headed to Salt Lake and spent time with some of my closest friends.  We got to see Merrilee and her darling kids and get dinner with Lori Jo (friends since pre-school) before catching our plane home.
