One of the perks of getting married meant Lee and I were able to "graduate" from the Stanford Singles Ward and move on to a family ward.  We heard fabulous things about our new ward (we're finding out all of them are true) and were excited to finally be able to go to Sunday School together!   That dream faded fast....

After just two or three Sundays at the new ward, Lee and I were asked to lead one of the FOUR nurseries.  Yes, there are THAT many children under the age of three.  And even more under the age of five.  We've never seen so many children.  All of them so darn stinkin cute that it's pretty impossible to pay attention to the speakers when you are surrounded by at least 3 - 5 of those little nuggets every Sunday.  But as cute as they are... it was a bit of a shock when we heard we'd be spending two hours each Sunday down on the floor playing with toys, coloring and making playdough.  But now that we have a couple of Sundays under our belt -- we're having a lot of fun with it.

My favorite parts are of course singing time and snack time.   And thank heavens for the over-achieving Mormons who have websites with supplemental primary and nursery guides and ideas for activities.  They not only have saved us every week but have also helped us to impress a few adults and make friends with the little guys.  My favorite so far are the apple pigs we made with wiggle eyes, gum drops, pipe cleaners and fruit roll ups.   And it's amazing what sort of entertainment pipe cleaners can provide!
