Every summer the Kalemba family gathers at Bear Lake in Idaho/Utah with Katie's Mom's side of the family (Tanners). It has been dubbed "Cousins Weekend" and is the party of the summer.

Nothing interferes with this weekend. Absolutely nothing! Lee learned that first hand this year when his job nearly conflicted with Cousins Weekend. I was NOT happy with that possibility. Lucky for us he was able to pull it off and now knows for himself that it's just too good to miss.

That said, we were a little smaller in numbers this year since most of the family had to choose between our event at Wallowa Lake and Bear Lake. Those of us on the West Coast were lucky enough to do both. We did have a few new additions this year -- Lee, Abbie's boyfriend Patrick, and Abbie's dog Nash! Nash was the center of attention and ranks higher in Lani's pecking order than even her boyfriend.... :)

It was another fabulous three day weekend that ended all to soon. We just can't get enough of each other, good food, beach games that come out of Lani's Bag of Fun, sun or water. As always -- it's hard to leave and return to reality. Good thing Wallowa Lake is just around the corner.

A couple of weekends ago Lani was in San Francisco visiting her best friend. We were lucky enough to be able to spend Saturday with the two of them, Joy and her boyfriend. It was uncharacteristically warm in the city that day so we donned our swimming suits and headed to Baker Beach. Not only did we even soak up a little sun, but Lani, Joy and Collin even braved the cold Pacific water. We also made friends with our beach towel neighbor, Dillon who kept us fully entertained with Childhood Challenges. This was our favorite: 1) What are the five professional sports teams within Basketball, Baseball and Football that do not end in the letter 's'?
