Last Halloween Lee and I spent the very wet weekend up in Point Reyes. After we had made plans to go to Point Reyes we learned that the San Francisco Symphony was showing a silent film of Phantom of the Opera with a live organ accompaniment.   We had wished we had the ability to be in two places at once.  We hoped that the following year we'd have another chance - and we DID!  I surprised Lee with tickets to this year's film and concert -- Nosferatu.  It's a black and white, silent film from 1922 and is more or less the story of Dracula.  The renowned organist Dennis James returned again this year to accompany the film.  He also brought with him two men who provided sound effects.  Some of the things they brought included old school wind machines, chimes, drums for the clip-clopping of horses feet, symbols and fancy pants Panasonic technology for additional eerie sound effects.  We had pretty great seats (I bought them the day they went on sale in AUGUST! Keeping a secret for so long nearly did me in) and really enjoyed the performance. I'd highly recommend going if you ever get the chance.  We loved it!
