Every summer my cousins from the Tanner side of the family gather at Bear Lake for three days of FOOD, more FOOD and fun in the sun.  I look forward to this weekend of the year nearly as much as Thanksgiving!  The masses gather at the Lone Pine Ranch (my Aunt's) in Mendon through late into the night on Thursday and then we head to the lake at some point on Friday.  We always hope to get there earlier than we actually do.  There are always many tasks to cross of the list before getting out the door.

Family comes in from all over:  Montana, Wisconsin, Idaho, Oregon, Colorado, Utah and California.  There are 24 + of us that sleep at the house and even more that consume food!  Tanners and Kalembas are all about food.  It's impossible to truly describe a Kalemba/Tanner eating event - but the amount of eating is staggering.  :)  The quantities of food consumed is obscene and this year each family outdid themselves with their meals.  It was amazing.  We all came home 5 - 7 pounds heavier.

This year Lee and I brought our tent and camped on the beach.  Once we got rid of the ATV's pulling wake-boarders in the surf - it was very peaceful and definitely the way to go.  It's the most sleep I've ever gotten at the Lake.  When you sleep on the deck at the house, you are at the mercy of the sleep schedules of everyone else.  I'm glad we finally got smart this year.  :) But as Garrick said, "This weekend is about living on love - not on sleep."  He couldn't have been more "akrate".

We had a fabulous time and our departure time came all to soon.  We had to leave around 10pm on Sunday to make the trip down to SLC to catch our flight in the morning.  It made for another rough Monday, but was totally worth it!  We love Bear Lake weekends!!!

We didn't pull out the camera until Sunday - so the pictures are limited.  But in case you're interested you can check them out. Password remains the same.
