Our social agenda sure has been full the last few weeks!  We returned home from our weekend in Idaho late on last Monday night (Labor Day) and I picked my parents up from the airport on Wednesday!  They stayed through Sunday and their visit was prompted by the King Tut exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco.

We really enjoyed their visit.  Lee had to work Thursday and Friday, and I had to work Thursday - so they just kicked it around the neighborhood.  It was fun to cook for them and show them our apartment.  I took Friday off and we walked the dish and snuck in a quick visit with the darling Smoot twins.  But, the highlight of the weekend was the Giants/Dodgers game on Friday night. My dad grew up a Brooklyn Dodgers fan and he was SO excited to see them play, even if they have moved to LA.  It was my mom's first time to the park and we lucked out with gorgeous weather.  Friday night was 9/11 and in remembrance they had a special red tugboat out in the bay, all players wore red caps and two fighter planes flew over the park after the national anthom. The game wasn't the best for the Giants and my dad was thrilled to see the Dodgers win.

Saturday we returned back up to the city to see the King Tut exhibit.  The exhibit was really interesting, but somewhat disappointing in that we didn't get to see a sarcophagus, coffin or burial mask of King Tut's.  Other than that - it was fabulous.  I'd say that as long as expectations are set appropriately, it's definitely worth seeing.  We enjoyed a very late brunch (2:30pm) at Dottie's that afternoon.  My dad was very impressed and thinks his home fries and omlette may have been the best he's had yet.

We spent some time with our friends that my parents know and love while my parents were here, played games and ate Lee's delicious ice cream. The weekend was full but not crazy and was just perfect.  I'm so glad they came to visit.
