Transforming the living room from it's original state to the state it's in today took several weeks.  And although it hasn't changed much since the middle of April, we FINALLY got our curtains and can say with excitement that this room is finished!  The living room has been (and will continue to be) our sanctuary amidst the chaos of remodeling.

Prior to move-in day, this is what the living room looked like:

Today it looks like this:

And photo of all the steps in between are in the gallery. These steps included:

• scraping the popcorn off the ceilings
• patching the hole in the ceiling where the beehive had eaten through the drywall and left an enormous opening- concealed only by the popcorn ceilings.
• sanding, spackling the walls and the ceilings
• texturing the ceilings
• priming and painting the ceilings (took three lousy coats!!!)
• painting and installing trim
• removing old carpet and replacing new carpet
• installing light fixtures
• discovering rotten drywall - replacing drywall and insulation
• priming and painting the walls
• trying to find curtains for a 102" by 72" window - not succeeding and eventually outsourcing the making of them.  (THANK YOU LIZ!!!!)
• building a step into the sunken room (which does still need to be covered with hardwood)

We are SO happy this room is complete and we LOVE it!
