It's hard to believe that in just a few days I will be headed to Oxford, England for the Skoll World Forum.  And 7 days after that, Lee will meet me at the Heathrow airport and we'll go directly to Italy for two weeks.  Hotels have been reserved, a few tours booked and friends contacted.  We are super excited!  Bring on the gelato!

I have been dreading hauling around my clunky and heavy work laptop during our vacation.  So much so that I contemplated sending it home with someone after the SWF or trying to get away with not having one at all.   When those options didn't pan out, it was just what we needed to tip the scales on the tablet debate.  On Friday night we waltzed into an Apple store and came out owners of the new iPad3. It's a little crazy thinking we have entered that world, but it is SUPER SLICK!  We spent a good portion of our weekend getting it all set up for our travels:  kindle app, books, maps, confirmations, vouchers, podcasts, etc.  How in the world did we travel before smart phones, Kindles and iPads?

I can't wait to take Lee to my favorite place on earth! Here's hoping for smooth connections, no erupting volcanoes and good weather!

*Note, we do not intend to be wired and on email much, this is our vacation after all!  It's just super convenient to have everything we need at our fingertips instead of reams of paper and stacks of books!
