We are back from our two weeks in Italy and had a great time.  Of course we would have preferred a little less rain and a little more warmth, but it still was fabulous.  We have hundreds of pictures to sort through and lots to report on.  I'm hoping to find time this weekend to post the details and a few pics.  But until then, here are our favorite moments of the trip:

• Staying just 5 minutes away from the Milano Duomo and wandering the piazza at midnight.  The stained glass of the duomo was all lit up and spectacular.
• Our first night in Venice.  We found a local trattoria around the corner from our B&B that was absolutely delicious and lively.  It was followed by strolling through the streets and soaking up the music in Piazza di San Marco at midnight.
• The skies miraculously clearing and being able to take the Funivie Monte Bianco to Point Hellbronner (3462 m) for incredible views of the Alps and the Aosta Valley. (My favorite place on earth).
• An evening at Porto Venere after a rainstorm
• The views in Florence from our hotel's terrace, from Giotto's tower and from Brunelleschi's dome. Followed by dinner and a night in the coolest hotel!
• Galleria Borghese and wandering the smaller streets of Rome
• Seeing my friends and host families from 18 years ago
• Gelato and Gelato Tartufos
• La cucina Italiana.  Lee has decided his stomach is Italian.   I already knew mine was.... so it was a feast for two wonderful weeks!
