Thanksgiving

Fun with the TG Babies Thanksgiving this year was in La Grande with my family and the Tanners. Our break was abbreviated due to the very happy union of Nick and Erika on the 29th, but we still made it home for 48 hours.  I couldn't bear to miss two years in a row of a Kalemba Thanksgiving or precious time with Jack and Owen.

We flew into Portland Tuesday evening and drove to Hood River where we collected Patrick, Abbie and Owen and caravanned to La Grande.  Patrick rode with Lee and I rode with Abbie and Owen.  We both got in some good visiting time and I'm glad we could help them get home Cute, Cute Jack .  Wednesday morning I had to work, and boy was that a challenge.  It was awfully hard to not want to be holding Jack or playing with Owen-the-entertainer.  I was glad when the half-day requirement was met and I could be all about those boys!

For the first time in Thanksgiving history (30+ years) the entire crew was assembled by 3pm on Wednesday.   The Tanners got in without any trouble (Ay worked miracles with getting Kook out the door) and we were able to hang out, have dinner together and fight over the babies.  :)  I was grateful everyone indulged me with baby love (I had one of the two little boys in my arms as often as possible) during the short time we were there.

Turkey Grillers Thursday was a pretty traditional Thanksgiving for us.  All of us (with the exception of Grandma Terry and Owen) made it outside and up Morgan Lake Road before needing to get to work on Thanksgiving dinner.   This year Kyle and Lee experimented with grilling a couple of turkeys.  They both turned out really good and was some of the juiciest turkey we've ever had.  We're going to have to repeat it at home soon.  Everything on the table was delicious and it killed me that since we had to leave super early on Friday morning that we didn't get a single bite of leftovers!  Happy Owen Pre Bath time

And by 6am on Friday we were on the road headed back to California.  It was terribly hard to leave everyone, but the reason for it was one of the best - Nick and Erika's got married that afternoon.  And fortunately for us, weather was friendly, flights were uneventful and we made it to the wedding with time to spare!
